Fiji & Tonga to play Rugby World cup warm ups

Fiji and Tonga will meet each other to warm up for the 2011 Rugby World Cup for home and away test matches in addition to the annual Pacific Nations Cup.

The Fiji Rugby Union revealed on Monday that the matches will go ahead as well as their scheduled matches in the Pacific Nations Cup which is contested by Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and Japan.

In addition Fiji Rugby Union chief executive Keni Dakuidreketi told the Fiji Times that they were trying to arrange warm up matches against Super 15 Rugby teams.

Dakuidreketi says he was hoping that Fiji would be able to play as many as six tests next season before the World Cup.

Tonga kick off their Rugby World cup campaign against the All Blacks in Auckland on September the 9th.

Fiji will start their Rugby World Cup campaign in Rotorua a day later on the 10th of September against Namibia.
