Harlequins v Leeds Carnegie preview

After last Friday’s frustrating defeat to Leicester Tigers at Welford Road, Quins will be determined to continue winning ways at the Stoop, which has seen them unbeaten in five straight home games.

Joe Marler is the only change to the starting XV that faced Leicester last Friday. The bench sees the return of Pete Browne and Rory Clegg.

Harlequins Director of Rugby, Conor O’Shea, said,”We have a huge respect for Leeds who, despite having a tough time of it in the Aviva Premiership, have shown like every team that unless you are at your best in this league you will lose. Andy Key and Neil Back are two great coaches and they will have their team up for every game they play and we know Sunday will be a fiercely contested game.”

Leeds Carnegie have named an unchanged side for their visit to Twickenham Stoop when they will be aiming to secure their first win of the Aviva Premiership season

The same side who collected a losing bonus point against Exeter last week will make the trip to the Capital as Leeds look to end their 8 game losing run in the Aviva Premiership this season and for their first win over Quins since April 2005.

This will be the 13th league meeting between the sides, with Leeds having claimed five victories over Quins in the top flight, two of which have been away from home.

Harlequins are winless in their last three encounters of Aviva Premiership Rugby, since beating Newcastle at the Twickenham Stoop on 2 October. Quins have lost just one of their last 11 matches at the Stoop in all competitions: 16-20 to Northampton in the Premiership on 11 September.

Leeds Carnegie have won just one match since 25 April: 23-9 in Bucharest in the European Challenge Cup on 9 October. Leeds have won just once away from home in the Premiership since February: 23-13 at London Irish on 18 April.

Harlequins have won their last four fixtures with Leeds, whilst the Yorkshiremen have not won at the Stoop since a 16-9 victory in the Premiership on 29 November 2003.
