Province sweat on Fourie for Currie Cup

Western Province hooker Deon Fourie will appear before an SA Rugby Union judicial hearing on Monday afternoon.

This, after being cited for foul play during Saturday’s Currie Cup Premier Division game against the Sharks.

Western Province defeated the Sharks 33-21.

SARU said Fourie was cited after his right hand allegedly made contact with the face of Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis in the 61st minute of the game.

The citing was for an act contrary to good sportsmanship.

Saru said the hearing would be held at the offices of the Western Province Rugby Football Union at 2.30pm. A statement would be issued afterwards.
