Racing-Metro’s sporting director Pierre Berbizier has been hit with a three-month touchline ban, the disciplinary commission of France’s National Rugby League (LNR) confirmed.
He received the suspension as a punishment for comments that the commission felt were against “the superior interest of rugby”.
Berbizier had said he was “a little disturbed” by the choice of Christophe Berdos as referee for a Top 14 game that Racing won 43-18 against La Rochelle on September 11.
Berbizier and some Racing players had been critical of Berdos’s refereeing during a play-off against Clermont that they lost on May 7.
His ban will run until November 27
