40 NZ players to be pulled from Super Rugby

As many as 40 New Zealand players will be rested through the Super Rugby and TriNations tournaments in order to keep them fresh for the world cup.

THE NZRU is pleading for the public in New Zealand to back their resting programme ahead of the rugby world cup even though it means that they will be paying too see players who will not be on display.

New Zealand’s Super Rugby coaches and the All Blacks coaching staff have put detailed plans in place that will involve the players.

NZRU CEO Steve Tew told Radio Sport that he’s never seen a better level of co-operation between the All Blacks and Super rugby franchises.

He says we are a very small country playing against much bigger odds and the players that will be rested won’t necessarily be current All Blacks.
