The Free State Cheetahs have added three new players to boost their Super 15 aspirations for the next season at least.
Sharks centre Andries Strauss and Blue Bulls lock Wilhelm Steenkamp will join the Cheetahs next year as well as Sevens Springbok Ryno Benjamin.
Strauss and Steenkamp will join the Cheetahs on one year contracts and centres Philip Snyman and Corné Uys have renewed their contracts for one year.
Twenty Six year old Andries Strauss is a cousin of Free State hooker Adriaan Strauss and will be returning to Bloemfontein after he moved to Durban in 2006.
Meyer Bosman signed with the Sharks which would in all likelihood reduce the former Sharks players amount of game time in the future.
Steenkamp will provide more depth for the Cheetahs at lock and should get more game time Victor Matfield, Danie Rossouw, Bakkies Botha and Flip van der Merwe at the Bulls being higher in the pecking order.
