Naka changes one Cheetah for Currie Cup

Free State Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske has made only one change to his starting side that beat the Pumas last weekend for Saturday’s Currie Cup rugby match against the Lions at Coca-Cola Park.


Waltie Vermeulen comes in at lock in place of Barend Pieterse, who has an ankle injury.


On the bench prop Kobus Calldo replaces CJ van der Linde who is in the Springbok training squad and Vermeulen’s place on the bench is taken by Sevens Bok Philip van der Walt.

Hennie Daniller; Phillip Snyman, Robert Ebersohn, Meyer Bosman, Jongi Nokwe; Louis Strydom, Tewis de Bruyn; Ashley Johnson, Francois Uys, Hendro Scholtz, Waltie Vermeulen, Izak van der Westhuizen, WP Nel, Adriaan Strauss (capt), Coenie Oosthuizen.


Replacements: Skipper Badenhorst, Kobus Calldo, Philip van der Walt, Kabamba Floors, Tertius Carse, Sias Ebersohn, JW Jonker.
