EP change name to Eastern Province Kings

The Eastern Province rugby team which currently contests the Currie Cup First Division has undergone a name change and will now be known as Eastern Province Kings (or EP Kings).


Eastern Province Rugby hope to be included in the Super 15 which starts next year and have formed a team known as the Southern Kings . That team has so far played just one match – which they lost – against the British and Irish Lions.

 

The new name aligns both teams with the Kings theme.

This name change applies only to the Currie Cup team and all age group, amateur and schools teams of the EPRFU will still be known as Easte  rn Province.
