England Hooker Thompson quits Brive for Leeds

World Cup winning England hooker Steve Thompson has left Top 14 club Brive for Leeds, the French club said Sunday.

Thompson arrived at Brive from Northampton in 2007 where he resumed his playing career after being told he would have to stop due to a neck injury.

This season, Thompson has played 17 matches in the Top 14, including eight as replacement, and five in the European Cup.

Since his international debut in February 2002, the hooker has won 55 caps and was part of the England team that won the 2003 World Cup.
