Biarritz have suffered a blow ahead of their European Cup final against French Top 14 rivals Toulouse after centre Damien Traille was ruled out of the match through injury.
Traille suffered a fractured forearm last month but had hoped to recover in time for the May 22 final at the Stade de France.
Revealing fears that Traille could simply compound the injury, Biarritz manager Laurent Rodriguez told reporters Tuesday: “Damien has decided to pull out of the final.
“There’s a risk he could just make it worse and we prefer to have him fully fit and ready for next season.”
Rodriguez added that number eight Imanol Harinordoquy will be fit for the final despite carrying a rib injury.
