Wallaby hooker Moore could miss TriNations

Brumbies and Wallabies hooker Stephen Moore will be out of action for 12 weeks after breaking his jaw during the Brumbies’ 40-22 loss to the Crusaders in Christchurch at the weekend.

Moore, who has played 46 times for Australia, underwent surgery in Christchurch on Saturday and will miss the upcoming test matches against Fiji, England and Ireland, as well as the first half of the Tri-Nations series.

Waratahs hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau will likely take over from Moore, with the Reds’ Saia Faingaa also now in the reckoning.

Faingaa missed the Reds’ 38-36 win over the ighlanders on Saturday with a neck injury but is expected to be fit after a short break.
