Thierry Dusautoir could not hide his delight after Toulouse sealed a sixth Heineken Cup final spot with victory over defending champions Leinster.
Yannick Jauzion and David Skrela crossed for second-half tries to seal the French giants passage to next month’s final in Paris against either Biarritz or Munster, who play on Sunday.
Jamie Heaslip scored a consolation for Leinster but the Irish province came off second best against the three-time champions in a brutal semi-final contest.
Toulouse captain Thierry Dusautoir said: “I am very happy. It’s a special feeling to reach the final and the two tries in quick succession was the key to the game.
“But we had to be focussed right until the end. When Jamie Heaslip scored they were only seven points behind and we needed to stay focussed. We are really pleased to be in the final once again
Man-of-the-match Skrela notched 21 points in all with both conversions and four penalties in an accomplished display.
“David was very good and he really led the team well in attack. But he’s also a really good defender and is important to the team.” Dusautoir added on the ERCRugby site.
“While Yannick is one of the main players for us at Toulouse and the France national team. We are only now seeing the real Yannick Jauzion but I hope he can do something better in the final.”
