Luther Burrell extended Leeds’ lead to 10 points in the 34th minute with the opening try of the match, but shortly before the break Australian Peter Hewat closed the gap to three points with a try of his own.
The second half was more subdued and only saw seven points scored as Leeds’ victory was secured in the 70th minute thanks to Jon Goodridge’s converted try.
