Top 14 club Clermont lose prop for a month

Argentinian international prop Martin Scelzo will be out of action for at least a month after undergoing an operation on a broken right hand, his Top 14 club Clermont announced on Sunday.

The 34-year-old suffered the injury during the second-half of Friday’s 22-17 victory over defending champions Perpignan.

His injury adds to the problems for title-chasing Clermont in the front row as they are already without former France prop Lionel Faure, who has a groin problem, while another Thomas Domingo will not be available for Friday’s Top 14 clash with Bayonne as is in the France SixNations squad for the match with Italy.
