Leicester Tigers bash Bath in LV= Cup

Leicester stormed to the top of Pool 1 as they recorded a comfortable 27-11 Anglo Welsh LV= Cup victory over Bath at Welford Road on Friday night.

Both teams struggled to string together any promising moves in the opening stages of the game, although the visitors did managed to break the dead-lock after 18 minutes, with Ryan Davis finding his range from a penalty kick.

Sam Vesty (pictured) looked to have ensured the teams would head into the break level-pegging after kicking a penalty of his own, bringing the scores to 3-3, but a minute before the break and Billy Twelvetrees crossed the line, although the conversion was kicked narrowly wide of the mark.

Davis closed the gap to 8-6 just after the break after slotting home his second penalty kick of the night, but the Tigers were awarded a penalty try shortly before the hour mark, and Vesty made no mistake wit his conversion.

A minute later and the visitors scored their first try of the match through Jonny Faamatuainu, but it would prove only a consolation as Tuilagi grabbed a try just before the final whistle to complete the impressive victory.
