Ireland wait on their Boss

Ireland scrum-half Isaac Boss will undergo a scan on Monday after suffering a shoulder injury during Ulster’s Magners League defeat against Llanelli Scarlets.

Boss, a try-scoring substitute in Ireland’s 43-13 Six Nations demolition of England nine days ago, should retain his role as cover for Peter Stringer, if fit.

But Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan has added Wasps scrum-half Eoin Reddan to the training squad ahead of Saturday’s clash against Scotland at Murrayfield.

Reddan will provide “precautionary cover” while Boss undergoes further medical checks, with O’Sullivan due to announce the starting line-up on Tuesday.

Reddan is among 10 players called up for training, joining Geordan Murphy, Tommy Bowe, Barry Murphy, Rob Kearney, Frankie Sheahan, Bryan Young, Stephen Ferris, Jamie Heaslip and Trevor Hogan.

An Ireland victory over Scotland would see them clinch a second successive Triple Crown.
