Super14 table takes an odd look

There is a rather unusual look to the Super 14 table after round 5. The Blues are on top, the Sharks, Bulls, and Lions make up the top four, after possibly the best Super rugby weekend in history for the South African sides, who managed four wins and a draw.

The Sharks are still the only unbeaten team after their 27-26 win over the Crusaders.

The defending champion Crusaders are mid-table with just two wins so far and may be starting to look forward to the return of their All Blacks for some relief as they are the hardest hit by the AB’s reconditioning programme.

The Hurricanes are fifth on the table, with the Crusaders seventh, Highlanders ninth and Chiefs 13th. The Force have been near the top or the middle most of the time while the Reds are at the bottom.

The Brumbies are in the unusual position of being 10th while the Waratahs are 3rd from the bottom.
