Skrela returns to Top14 after six months out

France international outside-half David Skrela returned to the pitch after six months on the sidelines following a knee operation in Saturday’s 17-12 win over Mountauban.

His return after his lengthy layoff was pushed forward by a week as a result of eleven Toulouse players being tied up with international call-ups and six injuries in the squad.

Skrela, 30, came on after 64 minutes in place of centre Florian Fritz.

“He hasn’t played for six months, it’s only normal that he shouldn’t return by the main entrance,” said Noves of Skrela not playing in his preferred position of outside-half.

“It’s good that he could play 15 minutes, we’re going to be careful for his health and see how he reacts.”

Skrela added: “It’s hard to judge but the knee is holding up. I didn’t have any pain or worries and that’s already very positive.

“A lot of players weren’t here, others are injured, we had to anticipate things,” he added of his early return.
