Worcester Warriors and Bath play to a draw

Worcester and Bath shared the spoils at Sixways Stadium on Friday as the sides drew 12-12 in testing conditions.

Jack Cuthbert had an opportunity to put the visitors ahead, but missed a penalty in the second minute before Willie Walker gave Worcester a three-point lead.

Bath hit the front for the first time in the 32nd minute after two penalties from Ryan Davis. However, they could have been further ahead minutes earlier.

A promising attacking spell saw Bath pin their hosts in their own 22 before spreading it wide for Danny Grewcock to finish it off, but he was dispossessed as he dived for the try-line.

The wet and slippery conditions restricted the potential for running rugby as the scoring continued via the goal-kickers after the break, Walker leveling matters with his second three-pointer in the 48th minute.

Davis and Walker exchanged penalties again around the hour mark to take the score up to 9-9, before Davis took his tally up to 12 points with his fourth penalty.

The Warriors were reduced to 14 men after a dangerous tackle from Sam Tuitupou, but Bath failed to take advantage as Worcester made it 12-12 thanks to Walker’s boot as they secured a just draw.
