Lievremont calls up Perpignan hooker

Perpignan hooker Guilhem Guirado was called up on Sunday to replace injured prop Luc Ducalcon for the upcoming November tests, France coach Marc Lievremont said.

“Its true that it is not a direct replacement in terms of position but Guilhem was always the 31st player on our list,” said Lievremont.

Guirado, 23 and a member of the Perpignan side that won the title last season, has been capped twice, winning his first against Italy in the 2008 Six Nations and his second one against Australia in June on their southern hemisphere tour.

Ducalcon, 25, injured a knee on Friday during his side Castres 17-15 defeat to Perpignan in their top of the table clash.

France start off their tests against world champions South Africa in Toulouse on November 13 then play Samoa at the Stade de France on November 21 followed by New Zealand in Marseille on November 28.
