Scarlets open Heineken Cup with Brive victory

Scarlets beath Brive by 24 points to 12 at the Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli on Saturday in their opening Heineken Cup clash.


Scarlets outscored their opponents in tries by two to nil and their French oppositon had to rely on the boot for all of their points nine of which came from Englishman Andy Goode.  


Sacrlets led Brive by 11 points to 9 at half time.


In the second half Scarlets turned up the pressure and they added a try and two penalties with a conversion as Brive could only add one penalty.
