Flutey ruled out of Top 14 for four weeks

Brive’s England centre Riki Flutey will be out for at least three to four weeks with a shoulder injury, the French Top 14 rugby club said on Thursday.

New Zealand-born Flutey, who had been expected to be sidelined for three months, will undergo keyhole surgery on Monday.

Flutey joined Brive this summer from Wasps but has played just one competitive match, a Top 14 tie, on August 28.

He is the latest injury worry for Brive, joining Andy Goode, Lachlan MacKay and Alexis Palisson on the sidelines for Saturday’s trip to Montauban.
