Bishop agrees contract with Sale Sharks

David Bishop has agreed a 12-month contract with Sale Sharks following a successful training spell with the Guinness Premiership  side.

The former Ospreys and Wales centre had his progress severely curtailed for two years due to a knee injury and did not have his contract renewed by the Magners League side this summer, despite making a return to form and regular first-team rugby last season.

He has been training with Sale Sharks in July and has impressed the coaching team.

Bishop, who has as an optional one-year extension, said: “I am delighted to be joining the Sharks, and am incredibly grateful to Kingsley Jones for giving me this opportunity to prove that I am back to my best and keen to get my rugby career back on track.

“I am confident that I can develop and take my rugby to the next level, and the Sharks are the perfect team to do that with.”

Sale Sharks Director of Rugby Kingsley Jones said, ” David has impressed me in his trial period with the club. He has lots of ability and potential and I am sure he will be a valuable addition to the squad.”
