Lions name Rose at 10 for Leopards

Golden Lions coach Hans Coetzee has brought in six new faces to start and also made two positional changes to the team for Saturday’s Currie Cup  rugby match against the Leopards in Johannesburg.

One of the players who gets a break is captain and flanker Cobus Grobbelaar, and No 8 Willem Alberts takes over the captaincy for this match. Derrick Minnie gets a start in place of Grobbelaar.

On the left wing Springbok Henno Mentz returns after injury. He replaces Johan Jackson who is on the bench, while Earl Rose moves from fullback to flyhalf with Herkie Kruger warming the bench.

Lock Johan Snyman starts in place of veteran Nico Luus and Wayne Swart and Kevin Buys are the new props in place of JC Janse van Rensburg and Gert Muller respectively.

Todd Clever, back in Johannesburg from playing for the United States, is on the bench.
