Stegmann to miss Bulls Currie Cup Sharks clash

Blue Bulls’ open side flanker Deon Stegmann is still struggling with an ankle injury and won’t be considered for Friday’s Currie Cup  match against the Sharks in Durban.

The Bulls had hoped that Stegmann might recover in time, but team doctor Dr Org Strauss confirmed on Monday afternoon that he won’t be available for the important third round clash.

Apart from Stegmann centre Wynand Olivier’s call-up to the Springbok side is a setback to the Blue Bulls.

They also have Pedrie Wannenburg (injury to his lung), Akona Ndungane (shin splints), John Mametsa (knee) and Burton Francis (general conditioning) who are on the injury list and won’t be able to face the Sharks.

Good news is that the 22 who played against the WP in the 30-22 win are all fit and with the exception of Olivier all will be considered.
