Another world cup winning Bok set for Top14

Clermont Auvergne say that they are close to signing Springbok World cup winner Jaque Fourie even though he still has a contract with the Lions in the Super 14.

Fourie’s Super Rugby contract runs until October next year but Top14‘s Clermont vice-president Jacques Pineau has revealed that his club are in the process of luring the 26-year-old to France.

“There is an agreement between the club, the player and his agents,” Pineau said in L’Equipe.

“I think his arrival is going to happen.”

Fourie was a first choice center for the Springboks in the 2007 Rugby  World Cup  in France but has been pushed out to the bench now as Boks coach Peter de Villiers prefers Adi Jacobs.

Fourie showed his worth to the Boks when he came on in the second test against the British and Irish Lions and scored a crucial late try.
