Samoa not interested in Super 15 bid

The Samoan Rugby Union has ruled out bidding to join Super Rugby expands to Super 15 in 2011.

SANZAR have asked for expressions of interest and sent an invitation to the Samoan Rugby Union but the Pacific Island’s union has declined.

CEO Peter Schuster told NewstalkZB that it would be impossible to get a professional franchise set up in such a short time.

Schuster says Samoa may be interested if the competition has further expansion in the future.

There has been talk from Australia that the next step in expanding Super Rugby would be to a Super18.
