Nokwe sits out Cheetahs Currie Cup opener

Springbok flyer Jongi Nokwe was excluded from the Cheetahs rugby team to play Griquas in their opening Currie Cup match in Bloemfontein.


Springbok sevens star Lionel Mapoe, who trained with the Cheetahs while Nokwe was in the Bok camp, will have the opportunity to show his class.

Hennie Daniller; Danwel Demas, Corné Uys, Meyer Bosman, Lionel Mapoe; Jacques-Louis Potgieter, Gerrie Odendaal; Francois Uys, Hendro Scholtz (capt), Johan Wessels, David de Villiers, Nico Breedt, WP Nel, Adriaan Strauss, Wian du Preez.


Replacements: Richardt Strauss, Coenie Oosthuizen, Frans Viljoen, Kabamba Floors, Tertius Carse, Louis Strydom, JW Jonker.
