Argentina bounce back to beat England in Salta

Argentina bounced back from a defeat to England at Old Trafford last weekend to beat England 24-22 in Salta Argentina on Saturday.


Argentina took an early lead with an unconverted try from Juan Manuel Leguizamon.


Andy Goode kicked a penalty shortly after but England spent the rest of the match trailing the Pumas.


Argentina played with a renewed passion compared to last weekend and outscored the visitors by two tries to one.


Last week’s man of the match Matt Banahan scored his second try in as many week’s which was England’s only try of the match and it came just two minutes from time.


Andy Goode converted to bring England to within two points but Argentina kept the ball close and wound down the clock in order to prevent England snatching the victory with a penalty or drop goal.
