George Stowers, the captain of Manu Samoa, has signed for London Irish and will join the club in July on a two year contract.
Stowers is a powerful athlete who is highly regarded for his tackling over the ball; he also has great distribution skills for a No 8.
“We want to augment our back row resources having gone through the majority of this season with just four senior players,” said Toby Booth, London Irish Head Coach, when he announced the signing today (7th May).
“George has shown great leadership qualities in his appearances for Samoa and will give us extra quality cover during international periods. He will add to the physicality of our back row which makes him ideally suited for playing in the Guinness Premiership.”
