Cardiff Blues won their first ever final as they smashed Gloucester 50-12 to become the EDF Energy Cup Champions for the 200/2009 season.
Leigh Halfpenny and Ben Blair scored two tries each as the Blues who are also in line for the Heineken Cup ran amok against the Cherry and Whites.
Gloucester got on the board through a Mark Foster try but Cardiff’s Tom James score saw the Blues go into half time with a 22-5 score line.
Even though Gloucester got a penalty try in the second half the Blues simply ran away with the match and never gave up and continued scoring until the death.
In the end the Blues outscored Gloucester by seven tries to two.
