Bath down Newcastle and move up the log

Bath moved back into the playoff places as they defeated the Newcastle Falcons 36-25 in the Guinness Premiership on Saturday.

Newcastle come out firing in the second half with May scoring a penalty followed by a try from Brent Wilson, which May again converted to put the visitors within five points.

Bath extended their lead in the 57th minute through Andy Beattie, which James converted. May continued to help the Falcons eat into the lead with another penalty but a second try from Maddock put the match to far out of their reach.

Shaun Berne converted and despite Andrew Fenby dotting down for five points, Bath secured a 36-25 win.
