The Sharks were the most impressive last weekend and while everyone who still has to play was contemplating the thought of it Sharks captain Johann Muller calmed all the nerves (Not) by saying that they can play 30 % better.

4.00: The Sharks start fairly strongly as they put together 7 phases but the Reds defence holds strong.

 

5.00: The Sharks are putting pressure on Ben Lucas and he has already has two kicks charged down.

 

9.00: The Reds start to come in to the attack more but as they start to get through a pass goes to ground.

 

12.00: The Reds get the first real breakthrough as  Adam Byrnes scores the first try for the Reds – it must be said that it was a team try though.

 

13.00: Ben Lucas takes the conversion but misses.

 

19.00: The Reds continue to plug away at the Sharks but their defence holds strong.

 

21.00: The Reds get another breakthrough as Scott Higginbotham gets through but the support fails to follow through and the try goes begging.

 

23.00:They do however win a penalty so Ben Lucas takes the kick and slots it.

 

27.00: The Reds continue to attack down the middle as they shrug of Adi Jacobs and the support comes in as Will Genia scores the Reds second try. Ben Lucas slots the conversion.

 

29.00: The Reds continue to work away at the Sharks who are becoming a little rattled as we see Francois Steyn get involved in a bit of handbags.

 

31.00: The Sharks are awarded a penalty and Rory Kockott slots it to put the Sharks on the board.

 

33.00: The Sharks get another penalty so Rory Kockott has another shot and gets it again.

 

38.00: The Reds have another go at the line but Scott Higginbotham is taken out without the ball so the Reds get a penalty. The ref however missed the Higginbotham tackle and awarded the penalty for a high tackle.

 

39.00: Berrick Barnes slots the penalty to extend the Reds lead.

 

40.06: The siren sounds for half time.

The second half is underway.

 

44.00: The real Sharks look to have come out for the second half as they run the ball to within 5 metres of the Reds line. The Reds give away a penalty but somehow the Reds hold them out.

 

45.00 Mark McLinden is sent to the bin for synical play. Note the score of 18-6 when he was sent to the bin.

 

46.00: The Sharks get some good attacking ball but Steyn knocks it on ending the move. Quade Copper gets some attention as Leroy Houston comes off.

 

48.00: The Sharks are slipping back into their first half game as Rory Kockott kicks for territory and the ball goes out on the full.

 

49.00: Ryan Kankowski has a sniping run down the line showing a great turn of pace. Digby Ioane however wins the race. The Reds get out of jail as the Ass. Ref says a Reds should have
