We are waiting for the kick off.

 

Wel it’s a lovely day in New Plymouth, the sun is shining and the match is underway.

 

4.00: The Hurricanes set up a scrum just outside the Cheetahs 25, they run the ball off the back of the scrum but the Cheetahs defence holds strong.

 

9.00: The Cheetahs give away a penalty in the Hurricanes half so they kick for touch to set up the line out. The Cheetahs however win the line out which is the third lineout that the Cheetahs have won from the Hurricanes.

 

13.00: Karl Lowe manages to open up the Cheetahs defence, he passes to Rodney So’oialo who gets caught up by the Cheetahs defence.

 

16.00:The Hurricanes get the first kickable penalty so Piri Weepu takes the kick but he misses by a way.

 

17.00: The Cheetahs give away a penalty in front of the posts so Weepu takes another shot and this time he slots it.

 

23.00: The Cheetahs get some good attacking ball from a line out but as they get to the breakdown they give a penalty away frustrating the backline.

 

25.00: The Hurricanes get the first try of the match after a centre field switch which allows Hosea Gear to run in the try.

 

26.00: Piri Weepu slots the conversion from the sideline.

 

28.00: The Cheetahs get a chance to put some points on the board so Jacques-Louis Potgieter takes the kick but misses.

 

29.00: The Cheetahs get their best field position yet as they set up a 5m Hurricanes line out. They win the line out and Sarel Pretorius fires through the line out and scores for the Cheetahs. The Hurricanes line out has big problems.

 

30.00: Jacques-Louis Potgieter misses the conversion.

 

31.00: The Cheetahs come extremely close to scoring again as a chip kick goes in for Hanno Coetzee but just as they cross the line the Hurricanes defence stops the try.

 

36.00: The Hurricanes win a line out and Karl Lowe of the Hurricanes breaks through but is eventually caught.

 

37.00: The Cheetahs give away a penalty for interfering with a player without the ball. They lose the ball however as the Cheetahs turn it over.

 

39.00: The Hurricanes try to attack but are hesitant so they get nowhere.

 

40.17:The half time siren goes. The Hurricanes have the ball and get the breakthrough as Tamati Ellison finds a hole to score the Hurricanes second try.

 

41.00″ Piri Weepu slots the conversion.

The Second half is underway.

 

43.00: The Cheetahs get the perfect start as they get an overlap and swing the ball back to the centre of the field and score a Wayne van Heerden try under the posts.

 

44.00: Jacques-Louis Potgieter slots the conversion.
