Chiefs waiting on Kahui and Lauaki

The Chiefs are hoping that Richard Kahui remains pan free today after completing the majority of training yesterday after he missed the last two weeks with a hip injury.

According to NewstalkZB Kahui described the injury as niggly, and says it is not painful all the time but “you know it’s there”.

He added that everything felt good after the 90 minute run and there have been no problems doing ball skills but the real test is when it comes to contact training.

Kahui said that it was good to know that the issue is different from the shoulder injury that hampered his 2007 season and took longer than expected to recover.

The Chiefs will carry out assessments later today on Kahui and Sione Lauaki who has a hamstring injury.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs Mils Muliaina is almost certain to miss another week with his back injury.

The Chiefs are one of three teams (Chiefs, Highlanders and Cheetahs) who have yet to win a match in the 2009 Super14 and play the Force this weekend in the fourth round.
