Browne extends Top 14 contract with Brive

Irish lock Damian Browne extended his contract with ambitious French Top 14 side Brive on Tuesday for another two years.

The 28-year-old arrived at Brive in 2008 and has formed a potent second row partnership with compatriot Christian Short which has seen Brive lie in sixth position in the championship and reach the quarter-finals of the European Challenge.

Brive, former European Cup winners, announced the signing of England centre Riki Flutey on Monday and they have also extended by a year the contracts of coaching duo Christophe Laussucq and Ugo Mola as well as South African No 8 Antonie Claassen.
