2.00: The Lions start off at pace and come close to scoring but the Cheetahs defence holds strong.

 

 9.00: The Lions get a penalty so Earl Rose gets a chance to put the Lions on the scoreboard but the ball hits the post.

 

12.00: Jaque Fourie makes a break down the line and Henno Mentz gets the ball at the last minute to Cobus Grobbelaar who dives over for the first points. Try.

 

13.00: Earl Rose converts the try.

 

15.00: The Lions get blown up for offside so the Cheetahs get a penalty and Jacques-Louis Potgieter kicks it.

 

17.00: Juan Smith makes a great break and passes to Brussow who passes to Frans Viljoen who dives over to score the Cheetahs first try.

 

18.00: Jacques-Louis Potgieter hits the post with the conversion.

 

25.00: Heinrich Brussow gets sent to the bin for 10 minutes.

 

28.00: The Lions surge again and this time it’s  Ashwin Willemse who scores a try for the Lions.

33.00: This game is being played at some pace. Henno Mentz blasts down the line and scores the Lions third try.

 

35.00: Earl Rose slots the conversion.

 

39.00: Danwel Demas has a dangerous run for the Cheetahs but he is caught and the siren for half time goes. The Cheetahs however have a penalty.

 

41.18 : Jacques-Louis Potgieter slots the penalty.

41.00: Ashwin Willemse gives a penalty away so the Cheetahs have a shot at goal.
