The Chiefs have suffered an injury to winger and fullback Sosene Anesi who has suffered a neck fracture after playing in Friday’s match against the Hurricanes in Hamilton.

A spokeswoman said that a CT scan on Saturday morning revealed that there was a fracture to the C6 and C7 vertebrae in Anesi’s neck..

Currently Anesi is in a stable condition at Waikato Hospital and is said to be not suffering from any paralysis.

Due to this injury Anesi has been ruled out of the tour to South Africa and has been replaced by winger Anthony Tahana.
