Bristol Rugby club captain Joe El Abd has responded to some media reports in France stating that he has signed a contract for 2009-10 with RC Toulon.
Joe is currently out of playing action, recovering from an operation to repair a torn bicep an injury suffered against Northampton Saints on December 14th.
As is the case with many players at this time of the season, Joe has found himself linked with a move away from his current club but told the club website this morning that he remains a Bristol Rugby player and committed to the cause.
“It’s no secret that I’m out of contract at the end of the season and, like every other professional rugby player, I’m keen to sort out my playing future.” he said on the Bristol Rugby web site.
“My agent is currently in talks with a number of parties, including Bristol Rugby, but nothing has been signed so it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
