Argentina wing Jose Maria Nunez-Piossek of French club Bayonne has torn right knee ligaments, an injury which has ended his season. His club, Bayonne, said on Thursday that he requires surgery.
The 29-year-old Nunez-Piossek, who has 25 caps for Argentina, got hurt in the final minutes of their 27-26 defeat to France in a test last Saturday. He sustained the injury in a clash with French prop Pieter de Villiers.
He is set to have surgery in the next few days in Bayonne and will be out for six months, effectively ending his season.
