Castres sign Three New Players

French Top 14 side Castres on Wednesday signed three new players, as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of next season’s European/Heineken Cup.

The three incoming players are South African centre Darron Nell, and two local players, lock Ludovic Michaux and back Thomas Bouquie, the club’s website said on Wednesday.

Nell, 28, formerly of Super 14 team Cheetahs, is seen as a replacement for Gerhard Vosloo, who left for French Top 14 rivals Brive.

Castres turned around a disastrous start to last year’s championship to finish fifth, which earned them the last qualification spot for the European Cup.
