Worn-out Lagisquet quits Biarritz

Patrice Lagisquet has quit as coach of French first division club Biarritz, which failed to make the Top-14 play-offs this season.

The 45-year-old former France international winger, who has complained of fatigue, will not be present at the club’s final match of the season against Castres on Saturday.

Lagisquet joined Biarritz in 1997 and guided the Basque club to three domestic league crowns (2002, 2005 and 2006), the French Cup in 2000 and the final of the European Cup in 2006 – which they lost 23-19 to Munster.
