Albi are set to play in the French second division next season after the French rugby federation (FFR) on Tuesday confirmed their relegation from the top flight for financial reasons.
An initial decision to demote Albi was taken last month because of their failure to balance the books.
The club can still turn to the French National Olympic Committee with a view to conciliation, the FFR said in a statement.
Dax, who were demoted to the second division for finishing 13th in last season’s championship, look set to take Albi’s place in the Top 14.
