Milloud to undergo operation on ruptured Achilles

French international prop Olivier Milloud is to undergo an operation on Wednesday on his ruptured right Achilles tendon.

The 32-year-old veteran – capped 43 times with one try since making his debut in 2000 – suffered the injury while training with his Top 14 side Bourgoin last week and is now expected to be out of action for six months.

Milloud, who was part of the France squad that reached the 2003 World Cup semi-finals where they lost to eventual champions England, will miss France’s tour to Australia and also the start of next season.

It is the second injury blow for Milloud this season – he had to undergo an operation on his neck last November which ruled him out of the Six Nations tournament.
