2.00: The Chiefs got the perfect start when the Crusaders gave away an early penalty so Stephen Donald took the kick and slotted it to put the Chiefs in front.

 

7.00: The Crusaders were given a penalty as Tim Bateman is tackled late. Stephen Brett took the kick but sliced it.

 

13.00: The Chiefs scored the first try of the match as Sitiveni Sivivatu scored in the corner.

 

14.00: Stephen Donald took the conversion but it hit the posts.

 

17.00: The Crusaders looked to be on their way to scoring a try but Sean Maitland lost the ball in the try-saving tackle by Sitiveni Sivivatu.

 

20.00: Ref Craig Joubert gives Mils Muliaina a team warning for infringements telling him that the next time an infringement happens it will be a card. The Crusaders go for the scrum.

 

24.00: The Chiefs work the ball the length of the field but as the go for the try the ball is knocked on.

 

26.00: Toby Lynn of the Chiefs is sent to the bin for playing the ball on the ground.

 

29.00: The Chiefs (down to 14) score their second try as Simms Davison dives over the line.

 

30.00: Stephen Donald slots the conversion.

 

35.00: The Chiefs (still down to 14) get the overlap but the ball goes to ground.

 

36.00: Callum Bruce’s replacement Dwayne Sweeney is having a great game.

 

38. 00: The Chiefs are awarded a penalty for an intentional knock down. Stephen Donald slots it perfectly.

46.00: The Crusaders finally got on the board as the Chiefs fumbled the ball only for Stephen Brett to break free and pass to Andrew Ellis who scored the try.

 

47.00: Stephen Brett failed to convert the try.

 

66.00: The Crusaders come extremely close to scoring another try but the ball is lost as it is dotted down. The Crusader need two converted tries to win this match.

 

70..00: The Crusaders are making loads of mistakes – throwing away opportunities. Their performance has been most un-Crusaders-like.

 

73.00: The Crusaders seem to be trying too hard which is forcing mistakes. The Chiefs defence has also been outstanding.
