CJ Van der Linde fit for Brumbies

Springbok World Cup prop CJ van der Linde has recovered from injury and will probably start from the bench when the winless Cheetahs play the Brumbies on Friday.

Further good news is the Cheetahs number one flyhalf, Jacques Louuis Potgieter, is also fit and will probably also be on the bench for the match.

The fitness of Van der Linde after a calf injury, in particular, is good news indeed for the Cheetahs who are reeling from their trouncing of 55-8 against Crusaders last weekend.

His aggression and strong runs could be the much-needed catalyst for a side that has lost two of their matches by a single point and one by two points – and on all three occasions the opponents’ winning penalties came in the last minutes.

Coach Naka Drotske, who rested eight of his front-line players for that match, will undoubtedly select his strongest available squad for the Brumbies clash which they have targeted as a match they must win on their Australasian tour.

Cheetahs captain Juan Smith, however, is still two weeks away from playing, and Kabamba Floors will have to pass a fitness test later this week to be considered for the Brumbies game.

If Floors cannot play. hendro Scholtz will probably take his place on the bench.
