Hoiles joins Brumbies

Talented 24 year-old loose forward and former Wallaby Stephen Hoiles has left his home province NSW and will wear a Brumbies jersey in the 2007 Super 14.

Hoiles played two tests for the Wallabies in 2004 before knee surgery ruled him out of international selection in 2005.

Hoiles featured in all but one of the Waratahs 2005 Super 12 games, but in this year’s Super 14 struggled for game time as he competed with a plethora of backrow talent including Phil Waugh, Rocky Elsom, David Lyons and Wycliff Palu.

Hoiles has spoken of his passion to regain Wallabies selection in time to contest next year’s World Cup in France.

As reported in Rugbyenews.com, Brumbies coach Laurie Fisher says he plans to play the athletic Hoiles at No 8 where he looks likely to have the inside running on other Brumby No 8 rivals Julian Salvi and Jone Tawake.
