Fisher delighted with Brumbies

Brumbies coach Laurie Fisher was full of praise for his captain George Smith after the Brumbies beat the Reds 43-11 in Canberra.

“I thought George was outstanding,” he said after the match in an interview.

“His leadership was brilliant.”

Fisher also had praise for wing Mark Gerrard who racked up 18 points in the game including a try.

“I’m really pleased for him,” said Fisher about Gerrard.

“He seems to like playing against the Aussie sides. He has worked very hard on his game since coming back from injury,” he added.

Fisher was visibly pleased with his teams performance after they had been hit with injury after injury in the opening rounds.

“We shut them out well.It wasn’t great losing Hux (Julian Huxley) early on, but we recovered well. We turned up to play,” he added.
