Australia A open Pacific Nations cup against Japan

Australia A will open their IRB Pacific Nations Cup campaign against Japan in Fukuoka on June 8, the Australian Rugby Union said Thursday.


In the five-week round-robin tournament, Australia A will also play against Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand Maori during June and July.


The Australians will play Samoa in Apia on June 14 and Tonga at North Sydney Oval on June 22.


Australia A will then face World Cup quarter-finalists Fiji at Brisbane’s Ballymore ground on June 29 before concluding their campaign at home against NZ Maori.


They will play NZ Maori, who have replaced the Junior all Blacks in the competition, at the Sydney Football Stadium on July 6.

June 8 – Japan v Australia A, Fukuoka,
Japan June 14 – Samoa v Australia A, Apia, Samoa
June 22 – Australia A v Tonga, Sydney
June 29 – Australia A v Fiji, Brisbane
July 6 – Australia A v NZ Maori, Sydney
