Tuisolia told TVNZ that his resignation was “one of principle and necessity to protect and uphold the dignity of the position of President of the FRU.” His move follows charges that have been laid against him relating to his previous position as CEO of Airports Fiji Ltd.
FRU chairman Keni Dakuidreketi said it was sad that Tuisolia had to resign, but he respected his decision.

In his resignation letter, Tuisolia thanked the FRU chairman, trustees, life members, the Board, management and staff of the FRU, all the affiliated unions and the rugby fans of Fiji for their support during his time as president.
